The bearing portion functions to support the pump shaft and reduce frictional resistance when the pump shaft rotates. Bearings can be divided into rolling bearings and sliding bearings according to different friction properties.

Bearings that rely on rolling friction to work are called rolling bearings. A typical rolling bearing is usually composed of four components: inner ring, outer ring, rolling element and cage. The inner ring is mounted on the journal, and the outer ring is mounted in the bearing hole of the frame. Usually the inner ring rotates with the journal and the outer ring is fixed, but there are also some outer ring rotation and the inner ring is fixed. When the inner and outer rings rotate relative to each other, the rolling elements roll in the raceways of the inner and outer rings. The function of the cage is to evenly separate the rolling elements. The rolling body is an indispensable part of the rolling friction in the bearing. Commonly used rolling elements are ball, short cylindrical roller, long cylindrical roller, spiral roller, tapered roller, spherical roller and needle roller 7 forms

Rolling bearings are easy to use and maintain, reliable in work, good starting performance, and high carrying capacity at medium speeds. Compared with the sliding bearing, the radial size of the rolling bearing is larger, the damping capacity is poor, the life is low at high speed, and the sound is larger.

The failure form of rolling bearing is fatigue pitting and plastic deformation. To extend its service life and maintain its rotation accuracy, the bearing should be maintained in time during the operation of the centrifugal pump, reasonable lubrication and sealing should be adopted, and the lubricating oil and seal should be checked frequently.
